Mobile banking and mobile wallet technology became increasingly important in 2013 because it provided consumers with a convenient and secure way to manage their financial transactions using their mobile devices.


This technology allows users to check account balances, transfer funds, pay bills, and make purchases using their smartphones or tablets, eliminating the need to visit a physical bank or carry cash.

The first mobile wallet in Thailand which enables a customer to do any financial transaction 24x7 and anywhere through their mPAY Wallet. It is a high-secured mobile financial service. With mPAY, you can pay for several products and services which fit with your lifestyle, transfer money to your friends and family.
 
Since AIS already has a development team, they chose us to be the designer which I was, at a time, the design leader of the team of two designers.


Challenge
  • Collaboration with another outsourcing development team.
  • Tight timeline and high expectation from clients.
  • The design tools and technology limitation. Back then I had only Adobe Illustration as a design tool and there were many screens size for Android OS to cater for. So, we decided to use Grid system and Web view to allow the layout changes based on the size and capabilities of the device.
  • Friendly UI and enjoyable to use.


Outcome

  • Successfully delivered within timeline.
  • Providing a design guideline (currently equivalence to a design system) to the dev team and for future improvement.

AIS mPAY also covert your phone to Rabbit card (Skytrain access card) by using NFC.

The revolution of banking services by Krung Thai Bank makes your life easier in performing online transactions with the full function of internet banking such as opening a new account, fund transfer, bill payment, and other support services.

The app, also, enables uses to talk to net officers who will provide services like personal assistance.
I worked as an outsourced UI designer and collaborated with another in-house (KTB) designer.

Challenge

  • Limit time to deliver the whole platform
  • Client’s Organization culture
  • Complicated user work-flow and multiple financial channels
  • Design tools and Technology limitation


Outcome
  • Laid design foundation in modular system and a design guideline.
  • Successfully delivered within timeline.


Achievement

As a former architect, I brought up a modular system principle and applied this to the project. Most of design elements which can be independently created, modified, replaced, or exchanged with other modules or between different systems or platforms.
